Antique George III Country House Oak Side Table C.1800

Description

A charming Georgian oak side table, the heavily patinated three-plank top over two frieze drawers fitted with later Edwardian neoclassical handles, all raised on subtly tapered square legs.

Embodying the distinct charm of the English country house aesthetic, the honest vernacular construction and time-worn surfaces make this a characterful choice for a hallway console, a compact dressing table or an understated writing table.

Very good antique condition with an exceptional, untouched well-worn finish, minor natural plank shrinkage consistent with age and a small historic loss to the cockbeading. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place.
