Very Narrow 18th Century George III Period Sideboard

Description

Very rare and useful antique 18th century sideboard or desk, it is so narrow in depth that it looks as if it must have been reduced in size and yet there is no evidence to suggest this. The drawer linings and the back boards all look original and there are no other signs of an adjustment having taken place. The only visible repair is to the rear bracket on one of the back legs and this is not visible from the front of the piece.

Either way, this is a very useful piece, being narrow front to back but remaining a normal height, it can be used as a desk, dressing table, sofa table or sideboard in the bedroom, dining room, drawing room or hallway.
