Arita porcelain refers to ceramic wares produced around the town of Arita in Saga Prefecture, Japan, where kaolin deposits were discovered in the early seventeenth century.

Arita porcelain is constructed from fine white porcelain clay, decorated with cobalt oxide paint, and covered in a transparent glaze before being fired at high temperatures.
