London City Antiques has dated this Burr Walnut Dining Table to the 1860s.

The table stands on a substantial turned central column with carved detail flowing down to elegant cabriole legs with carved accents and original ceramic castors. The proportions are well judged offering both presence and practicality as a six seater dining table while also working perfectly as a centre table.

A particularly desirable feature is the tilt top mechanism allowing the top to be raised vertically when not in use. This was a practical Victorian solution to save space and protect the surface and today adds versatility for modern living.

A decorative yet highly usable piece ideal for both classic and contemporary interiors and a strong example of mid 19th century craftsmanship.
Condition
Very good antique condition with a rich polished finish. Minor age related marks to the top as expected. The tilt mechanism works well and the base is solid and stable.
