Sturmans Antiques has dated this Georgian Mahogany Stick Barometer to the Georgian era.
Engraved silvered scale to the top with vernier marker and the mercury action stick barometer tube sat in between; the tube visible to the centre of the trunk. Bears the makers name Watkins, London, who is recorded as making barometers at 22 James Street between 1784 and 1809.
