We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian ceiling lighting, dating from roughly 1901 to 1910, incorporated Neoclassical design elements alongside high-quality cut lead crystal and brass fittings. These light fixtures were designed to accommodate early domestic electricity, featuring glass shades that maximised light diffusion while displaying detailed geometric pattern cutting.

Edwardian pendant lights were primarily constructed from solid cast or stamped brass combined with hand-cut crystal or pressed glass shades. Brass gallery rims were frequently adorned with decorative motifs such as swags, ribbons, or rosettes, while suspended beaded chains provided structural support.

Authentic Edwardian light fixtures feature unpolished or aged brass with natural oxidisation in recessed details, heavy lead crystal glass with slight hand-cut irregularities, and period-specific gallery fittings. Modern reproductions often exhibit lighter weight alloys, uniform machine-moulded glass, and contemporary internal threads.

An antique brass and crystal pendant light serves as an architectural accent when installed in entryways, staircases, or above dining areas. Combining historic brass metalwork with neutral contemporary paint palettes creates a balanced visual contrast between classical craft and modern interior design.

Clean crystal glass shades using a soft, damp cloth with warm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners. Brass gallery components should be dusted gently with a dry microfibre cloth to preserve the natural historical patina rather than scrubbed with abrasive polishes.
