German Ting Tang Striking Bracket Clock by Schneckenburger

19th century
Description

A very good quality late 19th century, German bracket or table clock with walnut case by Schneckenburger. The case is flanked by gilt bronze term figures with floral detail, and stands on scroll bracket feet, finished with decorative finials to the top.

The brass dial has pierced scroll detail with a silvered chapter ring and Roman numerals, and a slow-fast mechanism. The movement is an eight day duration which strikes the quarters, halfs and hours on two gongs.

The movement backplate is stamped with the makers name -

RMS (Reinhold Schneckenburger)

The movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.

Depth - 19 cm (7 ½ inches)
