Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian mantel clocks typically feature refined Neoclassical proportions, arched or dome tops, and decorative wood inlay techniques such as satinwood stringing. Produced between 1901 and 1910, these timepieces reflected a return to lighter, elegant designs following the heavier Victorian aesthetics.

These clocks commonly feature mahogany or walnut cases adorned with boxwood, satinwood, or fruitwood marquetry. The functional components typically incorporate brass bezels, glass crystal face covers, steel hands, and cast brass bracket feet.

Authentic Edwardian pieces often display delicate inlay work, hand-finished mahogany timber, and mechanical movements accessed via rear doors or side sound frets. Checking for natural wear around winding arbors, period dial typography, and authentic brass hardware can confirm age.

A mahogany mantel clock provides a grounding focal point when positioned on a fireplace mantelpiece, console table, or structured bookshelf. Pairing the warm timber tones with minimalist modern ceramics or structured book stacks balances heritage charm with clean contemporary aesthetics.

Keep the wooden case away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber cracking or veneer lifting. Clean the mahogany surface using a soft microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year to preserve the original finish.
