Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency furniture, produced in Britain from roughly 1811 to 1830, is characterised by classical symmetry, Greek and Roman influence, and the prominent use of figured wood veneers such as rosewood, mahogany, and pollard oak.

Pollard oak comes from oak trees whose top branches have been repeatedly cut back to encourage dense, bushy growth. This technique creates highly figured timber with dense clusters of knots and swirls, favoured during the 19th century for decorative veneers on writing tables and cabinets.

Authentic Regency writing tables frequently feature classical architectural motifs, high-quality dovetail drawer joints, cast brass hardware or mouldings, and trestle end supports connected by turned stretchers.

A Regency writing table can serve as an elegant workstation, side table, or hall console, providing contrast against modern neutral walls while adding timber texture to contemporary schemes.

Pollard oak should be kept away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent shrinkage or cracking of the veneer. Regular dusting with a soft cloth and occasional applications of natural beeswax polish will preserve the wood finish.
