Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The tradition of presenting silver gifts at a christening dates back centuries, rooted in the idea of offering a tangible asset of enduring value to mark a childs entry into the community.

High-grade British christening cups are typically crafted from sterling silver, an alloy comprising 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper to enhance durability for engraving and daily handling.

Authentic British sterling silver displays a complete set of hallmarks, including the sponsors or makers mark, the lion passant indicating purity, an assay office stamp, and a date letter.

Silver christening cups serve as elegant accents on bookshelves, mantels, or vanity tables, and are frequently repurposed as small floral vases or desk organisers.

Silver should be cleaned gently using a dedicated silver polishing cloth or low-abrasive polish, and stored in a low-humidity environment inside a felt-lined case to prevent tarnish.
