London City Antiques has dated these Victorian Walnut Dining Chairs to the 1860s.
This style became highly popular in the Victorian period where comfort and visual impact were equally important in the dining room.

Raised on cabriole legs with carved detail to the knees giving a soft elegant stance. The frames are well shaped and show good quality craftsmanship.
The seats have been newly upholstered in a soft patterned fabric which complements the warmth of the walnut and provide comfortable ready to use seating.

Chairs of this type were designed for formal dining but today they work equally well as occasional seating or as statement side chairs in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
