Very Fine Japanese Satsuma Vase by Kinkozan

Description

This is a very finely decorated Meiji Period (1868-1912) Satsuma vase from the highly regarded Kinkozan studios in Kyoto. The main illustration is a pair of geese in a lakeland scene surrounded by trees and flowers including morning glory, maples in autumn colour and pines. The base of the vase is very finely gilded with flowers and ginko leaves and the neck and shoulders with chrysanthemum flowers. The detail in this beautiful vase is very fine and intricate. Signed clearly to base.
