Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian occasional tables were versatile accent furniture pieces produced during the 19th century, frequently featuring decorative marble inlay tops with floral motifs set upon turned and carved timber bases.

These tables commonly pair solid or veneered mahogany and walnut bases with specimen hardstone or Pietra Dura tops crafted from natural marbles, alabasters, and mineral stones.

Authentic period examples demonstrate hand-carved architectural details on the column, historical underside construction techniques, natural oxidation to the wood, and hand-cut inlay work on the stone surface.

Position the piece adjacent to modern upholstered seating as an accent table, utilizing the geometric stone inlay to introduce texture and historical contrast into modern room layouts.

Maintain the marble top using a soft cloth with pH-neutral soap while avoiding acidic liquids, and nourish the mahogany timber base using a quality beeswax polish.
