Marlborough Antiques & Interiors has dated these French Walnut Bedside Cabinets to the 1900s.
The doors are veneered in richly figured walnut panels displaying dramatic natural grain typical of provincial Rhône Valley furniture of this period.

The interiors retain their original shaped shelf designed to hold a chamber pot, a charming reminder of their original function in French bedrooms before indoor plumbing became widespread. Drawers are traditionally constructed with dovetail joints and the cabinets retain their original brass drop handles.

The dark Belgian marble tops are inset into the frames and provide both a practical and elegant surface, beautifully complementing the warmth of the walnut.
These cabinets make excellent bedside tables but would also work equally well as lamp tables or small hall cabinets in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
