Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A bow-front display cabinet is distinguished by its convex curved facade, which provides multi-angled views of items displayed within. It typically incorporates glass doors, timber framing, and interior shelving designed for storing and presenting decorative items.

Cabinets from this era were commonly constructed using dense hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut, or oak, combined with float glass panels and brass hardware. Solid timber frames were often finished with French polish or wax to enhance wood grain patterns.

Authentic period pieces often feature hand-cut joinery such as dovetail or mortise and tenon joints, period-correct brass escutcheons, minor irregularities in older sheet glass, and traditional timber backboards rather than modern plywood.

A classic glazed cabinet serves as an accent piece in dining rooms, living rooms, or hallways. It can be populated with curated ceramics, books, or glassware to create a structured focal point that introduces dark wood tones into contemporary spaces.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish occasionally to preserve the timber finish. Keep the glass clean using a dedicated glass cleaner applied to a cloth rather than sprayed directly onto the wood.
