Description

19th century swedish birch chest of drawers circa 1884.

Good quality chest of drawers that was easy to date as it was written on the back in pencil.

Made in an unusual birch with quite a sappy grain.  rectangular top with rounded front corners and moulding.

Shaped top drawer with a further 3 drawers of equal proportion below, each fitted with it's original leather embossed escutheon, working key and locks.  shaped floor level freize to front and sides.

Good rich golden colour as birch of this period should.  1 small indentation to top drawer front, 1 small area of restoration to lower drawer front.  evidence of dead inactive worm, which has been treated.  ready for everyday use.
