Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco silver, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by streamlined geometric forms, engine-turned patterns, symmetrical decoration, and a move away from organic Victorian ornamentation towards modern, industrial aesthetic precision.

Silver boxes from the George V period were typically crafted from sterling silver and frequently featured guilloche or engine-turned engraving created using precision lathe tooling to produce fine geometric patterns on the lid and body.

Authentic British silver pieces from the George V era bear official hallmark stamps consisting of the makers mark, town mark, standard mark such as the lion passant for sterling silver, and a date letter corresponding to a year between 1910 and 1936.

Small antique silver containers serve as functional accent pieces when arranged on a bedroom dressing table, placed atop a stack of books on a coffee table, or integrated into a curated tray display in a living space.

Antique silver should be gently polished with a soft microfiber cloth and a dedicated silver cream to remove tarnish, avoiding abrasive cleaners or dipping solutions that could strip delicate engraving or remove natural patination from recessed details.
