Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver trinket boxes, produced between 1901 and 1910, often feature delicate forms, smooth polished surfaces, and romantic shapes such as hearts or ovals. Unlike heavier Victorian designs, Edwardian silver emphasised lighter lines and refined proportions, commonly crafted for vanity tables and dressing sets.

Antique English pill and trinket boxes were predominantly constructed from sterling silver, containing 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed with copper for durability. They typically feature hinged construction with friction-fit closures and hallmark stamps applied directly into the metal body or rim.

Authentic British silver boxes feature a full set of hallmarks stamped by an official assay office, such as the anchor for Birmingham or the leopards head for London. These stamps include the lion passant for sterling quality, a makers mark, and a specific date letter indicating the year of assay.

A small silver heart box can be styled on a bedside table, vanity tray, or dressing table as a functional accent for daily jewellery. Placing it atop a stack of books or alongside glass perfume bottles introduces varied textures and historical depth to modern interiors.

To preserve sterling silver, clean gently using a soft microfibre cloth and a silver polish formulated for antique metalwork. Store the item in a dry environment away from direct sunlight to minimise oxidisation and prevent tarnish buildup.
