Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George V era silver, produced in the early 20th century, frequently incorporated revivalist styling, drawing inspiration from Rococo, Baroque, and classical motifs. These small boxes were traditionally created as vanity items for dressing tables to hold pins, rings, or small trinkets.

These boxes were constructed from sheet sterling silver using techniques like repousse, where designs are hammered into relief from the reverse side, and chasing for front-side detailing. Edges were often finished with crimped or ruffled borders, and lids were precisely fitted to the body.

Authentic British silver bears a set of stamped hallmarks, typically including a makers mark, a town mark such as the leopards head for London, the lion passant denoting sterling silver purity, and a date letter corresponding to the exact year of production.

A silver heart box works as a decorative accent when placed on a bedroom bedside table, a marble bathroom countertop, or stacked atop books on a coffee table. Its metallic finish creates visual interest alongside contemporary matte textures.

Silver should be gently wiped with a soft microfibre cloth and cleaned using non-abrasive silver polish to remove oxidisation without erasing depth from chased or repousse highlights. Chemical dips should be avoided as they remove natural contrast in relief work.
