Yeats Country Antiques has dated this Georgian Mahogany Longcase Clock to the Georgian era.
The rising hood features a broken swan neck pediment with centred finial and reeded detailing above a single glazed glass panelled door flanked with a gorgeous pair of ring turned reverse tapering reeded columns and is fitted with a well cast brass escutcheon with key and houses a fabulous brass dial of circular form which features both roman and decimal numerals flanked decorative arrangements of scrolling foliate and engraved 'William Betagh, Dublin'. Raised above the moulded panelled trunk with delicate line inlaid detail and a shaped and panelled door flanked with a fabulous pair of ring turned and reeded pilaster columns to the sides, supported on inlaid plinth base, terminating on elegant ogee bracket feet.
