Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the Edwardian era, silver menu holders were placed on formal dining tables to display printed dinner menus or individual guest place cards. They served both a functional purpose and as decorative conversation pieces during multi-course banquets.

These items were predominantly cast in solid sterling silver, often featuring hallmarked disc or oval bases attached to sculptural motifs. Castings were detailed using chasing and engraving techniques before being fitted with rear clips or slotted bases to secure cardstock.

Authentic pieces carry British hallmarks indicating the silver purity, assay office mark, makers mark, and date letter corresponding to the reign of King Edward VII (19011910). Original sets are frequently housed in fitted, velvet-lined leatherette presentation cases.

Silver menu holders can be incorporated into contemporary table settings as place card stands for dinner parties or utilised on sideboards and desks to hold photograph cards, notes, or artwork.

Silver menu holders should be cleaned using a soft microfiber cloth and a mild silver polish formulated to remove oxidisation without abrading delicate surface detail. Pieces stored in original velvet cases should be kept in a dry environment to prevent tarnishing.
