Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George V era silver photo frames typically feature refined geometric outlines, circular or rectangular shapes, and subtle surface embellishments such as engine turning or delicate reeding. Produced between 1910 and 1936, these pieces often combine traditional craftsmanship with early twentieth-century decorative simplicity.

These frames were typically constructed using a sterling silver outer fascia, standard glass fronts, and wooden or fabric-covered backings with easel stands. The silver component was struck with full British hallmarks denoting purity, location, and date.

Authentic British silver frames bear stamped hallmarks that include the makers mark, the sterling lion passant purity mark, an assay office symbol such as the leopards head for London, and a specific date letter corresponding to the year of manufacture.

A circular silver frame can be positioned on a sideboard, bedside table, or desk alongside modern ceramics or books to create a layered vignette. Metallic silver surfaces introduce reflective highlights to neutral or dark interior palettes.

Dust the frame regularly with a clean, soft microfiber cloth and polish gently using a specialist silver polishing cloth to remove tarnish. Avoid dipping liquids or abrasive cleaners that could damage the fabric backing or seep behind the glass.
