Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Windsor chair is characterised by a solid wooden seat into which the chair legs and back uprights are secured using mortise and tenon joints, rather than having continuous rear legs.

English Windsor chairs frequently utilized a combination of native hardwoods, commonly incorporating elm for the solid seat, yew or beech for the steam-bent bows, and ash or fruitwood for the spindles.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-carved saddled seats, hand-turned legs, natural wear on the armrests and footrests, and evidence of historical hand-tooling on the underside.

An antique Windsor chair functions well as an accent chair beside a reading light, grouped around a farmhouse kitchen table, or placed in an entryway to bring organic texture into a minimalist room.

Preserve the natural timber finish by dusting regularly with a soft cloth, applying high-grade beeswax twice yearly, and keeping the item away from direct heat sources to prevent wood shrinkage.
