Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency rosewood centre table is a prominent 19th-century furniture piece designed to sit in the middle of a room, hallway, or foyer. Popularised during the British Regency era, these tables often feature a circular top with dramatic grain patterns supported by a central pedestal base.

Tables from this period typically feature high-grade rosewood veneers applied over solid timber frames. Construction details include hand-fitted tilt-top brass latches, beaded edging, and a heavy triform base supported by hand-carved scroll feet.

Authentic Regency pieces exhibit hand-saw marks on the secondary underside timbers, period-correct brass catch hardware, and natural oxidisation across the wood finish. Symmetrical grain placement, such as book-matched rosewood veneers, also indicates authentic craftsmanship.

Position the table in an entryway or central hall as an architectural anchor, styled with a simple vessel or floral display. Alternatively, set the tilt-top upright against a wall to present the circular wood grain as a vertical decorative feature.

Dust the surface regularly using a soft dry cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve moisture in the timber. Avoid direct sunlight and heating vents to prevent veneer lifting or fading of the natural colour.
