Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco horology from the 1920s and 1930s relies on clean geometric shapes, bold typography, and streamlined metal frames. Design aesthetics moved away from ornate Victorian styles toward industrial modernity and symmetry.

Clocks from this era frequently combined chrome-plated metals, bakelite, glass, and brass components. Chrome was particularly favoured for its reflective, modern appearance and resistance to tarnishing.

Authentic pieces generally feature clear maker marks on the dial, such as Smiths or Smiths 30 Hour, along with country-of-origin stamps like Made in Gt Britain near the bottom index.

A square chrome timepiece functions as a functional accent on contemporary office desks, bookshelves, or mantelpieces. The metallic finish integrates effectively with modern industrial and minimalist interior styles.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft, lint-free microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints and dust. Avoid abrasive chemicals or harsh metal polishes that can wear down thin chrome plating or damage glass covers.
