Early 20th-century still life painting often focused on everyday objects, domestic flora, and captured natural light through impasto techniques and muted tonal palettes.

Traditional pieces were typically painted with oil pigments on stretched linen or cotton canvas, housed within hand-carved or molded wooden frames finished in gilt or gesso.

Authentication involves examining the canvas weave, inspecting the composition for period-appropriate pigments, checking for signatures or dates, and inspecting the frames construction and aging.

Hang the piece on a neutral wall to let the traditional tones stand out, or pair it with contemporary minimalist furniture to create an eclectic, layered aesthetic.

Keep paintings away from direct sunlight and high humidity, dust gently with a soft dry brush, and consult a professional conservator for cleaning or varnish removal.
