Description

Smart early C19th William IV period parquetry top circular occasional table .

The Tunbridge Ware style ‘tumbling block’ design parquetry top inlaid with rosewood, mahogany and satin-birch specimen timbers. The geometric centre surrounded by a broad cross-banded border with further inlaid detail.

The top hinged to the block and the underside fitted with its original cast brass ‘banjo’ catch to allow it to be tipped .

Raised on an elegant turned mahogany column pedestal onto a circular mahogany platform base supported on three turned paterae scroll feet .

In excellent original condition , the whole having achieved a rich colour and patina .
