Robert Bush Antiques has dated this Regency Rosewood Writing Box to the Regency era.
Make no mistake, this beautiful box is an absolute stunner, the wood is a glowing rosewood, the brass inlay is intricate and perfect, and the inside benefits from the original leather to the writing surfaces.
To the sides are inset brass carrying handles in the military style (made so the handles don't foul on anything it is packed with while on manoeuvres) and the leather, although having a few marks showing signs of use and wear, is lovely.
There is a removable pen tray, and lidded section for small items.
There is a glass inkwell which is probably not original, although the box did arrive with it in place.
It comes with key and working lock and all round, is a superior box that doesn't come available that often.
