Description

A very good quality 19th century mahogany writing desk. The top has the original black leather tooled leather inset, well shaped mahogany rounded corners, two mahogany drawers, one stamped by the cabinet makers Johnstone & Jeanes, 67, New Bond Street. A very well proportioned desk, standing on shaped ends, with good round feet, brass castors and supporting stretcher. A original table desk, with a polished back, all in very good condition, a seating height of 65cm, made by Johnstone & Jeanes around 1840s, and all ready for use.

Johnstone & Jeanes were well reputed cabinet makers, they exhibited at the Great Exhibition in 1851.
