In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian mahogany occasional tables are compact accent pieces produced during the 19th century, characterised by dense hardwood timber, turned leg details, and functional surfaces designed for flexible room placement.

Craftsmen primarily utilised solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over timber frameworks, constructing joints with traditional hand-cut mortise and tenon or dowel techniques alongside turned wooden accents.

Authentic 19th-century tables typically display natural timber shrinkage, hand-planed underside surfaces, original iron fixing screws, and slight inconsistencies in hand-turned leg profiles.

Place the table in an empty corner or beside seating to display architectural houseplants, ceramics, or lamps, contrasting warm wood tones against neutral backdrop walls.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply natural beeswax polish sparingly along the timber grain, keeping the piece away from direct sunlight, central heating radiators, and moisture.
