Produced during the reign of King William IV (18301837), these tables bridge the transition from Regency elegance to early Victorian solidity. They are characterised by robust proportioning, substantial carved pedestal bases, decorative scroll feet, and the use of dense flame mahogany timber.

These tables were constructed using dense West Indian or Cuban mahogany, often featuring flame mahogany veneers applied over a solid pine or oak substrate. The tops were held onto the pedestal by a cast brass tilt mechanism or catch, allowing the surface to flip vertically when stored.
