Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kutani porcelain from the Meiji period (18681912) is recognised for its elaborate overglaze enamel decoration, prominent use of iron-red and gold, and intricate figurative or floral motifs designed primarily for export.

Artisans craft Kutani ceramics from kaolin clay, applying high-fired glazes followed by multi-coloured enamelsoften including raised slip decoration known as moriageand delicate gilt embellishments applied during secondary kiln firings.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit characteristic iron-red palette schemes, detailed hand-painted figures, red-and-gold character marks painted on the base, and signs of hand-formed clay construction alongside age-appropriate wear.

Position the vessel on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or dedicated pedestal to allow its detailed brushwork and warm red tones to serve as a focal point against neutral backdrops or alongside contemporary minimalist furnishings.

Dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or horsehair brush, avoiding water, chemical cleaners, or abrasive materials that could erode the delicate overglaze enamels and original gilding.
