Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Louis XV furniture, prominent during the mid-18th century, is recognised by its emphasis on asymmetry, graceful curves, cabriole legs, and ornate Rococo influence. Pieces frequently display naturalistic carvings, serpentine fronts, and decorative gilt-bronze mountings.

Craftsmen of this period primarily utilised solid woods such as walnut, oak, and fruitwood, often adorned with elaborate wood marquetry or veneer. Hardware typically comprised cast brass or bronze ormolu handles and keyhole escutcheons.

Authentic pieces feature period construction markers, such as hand-sawn drawer linings, hand-cut dovetail joints, and historic hand-hammered hardware. Natural signs of age, including historic wood shrinkage and uneven oxidisation on metallic mounts, help confirm authenticity.

A period commode functions as a anchor piece in an entryway, living area, or bedroom. Pairing dark, warm timber with contemporary artwork or minimal ceramic decor creates a balanced contrast between historic craftsmanship and modern design.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year to maintain the wood finish. Keep the item away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber movement or fading.
