Regency Double Fusee Bracket Clock by Snow of Knaresborough

Description

A Regency brass inlaid figured mahogany 8 day double fusee bracket clock by Thomas Snow, Knaresborough c.1835. The arched top case with ebonised moulded edge to the front. Figured mahogany front to the case with decorative brass stringing and decorative inlays below the dial. Moulded band above the base plinth with turned mahogany bun feet below. Brass sound frets to the sides with red silk set behind. Cast brass hinged bezel with convex glass and key release catch sat over the matching convex dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. Bears the makers name Thomas Snow, Knaresborough to the dial. Thomas Snow was the son of highly regarded and collected maker Will Snow of Padside and was known to be working in Knaresborough between 1834 and 1844. This example presented in superb original condition, the movement fully overhauled and working and with a rich colour and original patina to the case. Measures 11" wide x 6.5" deep x 16" high.
