Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A bijouterie cabinet, also known as a vitrine table, is a small glazed display cabinet or table manufactured during the Edwardian era (19011910). It was designed specifically to showcase small valuable items, jewellery, and personal curiosities under glass.

These cabinets were predominantly crafted from fine hardwoods such as mahogany or rosewood, frequently decorated with satinwood or boxwood marquetry inlays. They feature clear glass panels on the top and sides, brass fittings, and lined interior bases.

Authentic Edwardian pieces often display fine hand-cut joinery, delicate marquetry or stringing, original brass hardware, and slender tapered or cabriole legs. Glazing from this period may show minor surface variations, and the interior wood lining typically exhibits natural age marks and oxidisation.

A bijouterie table functions well as an accent piece in a hallway, drawing room, or dressing room. It can be used to organize and display curated collections of pocket watches, medals, or small decorative trinkets without visually crowding a space.

Keep the cabinet away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent wood movement and veneer lifting. Dust the timber regularly with a soft cloth, apply beeswax sparingly once or twice a year, and clean the glass using a dedicated glass cleaner applied to a cloth rather than sprayed directly.
