Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian tabletop display cabinets were produced between 1901 and 1910 primarily for commercial retail shops to present high-value items such as jewellery, tobacco, or confectionery. They are defined by slender timber framing, straight lines, clear glass sides, and minimal carved ornamentation compared to earlier Victorian counterparts.

These showcases were constructed using fine hardwoods such as mahogany or oak for the outer frame, fitted with drawn sheet glass panels and removable interior glass shelves resting on nickel or brass support brackets.

Authentic period examples feature original float or cylinder glass displaying slight waves or air bubbles, tongue-and-groove or mortise-and-tenon frame joinery, and natural wear patterns along the bottom moulding where the cabinet rested on shop counters.

Designers position these cabinets on top of sideboards, desks, or console tables to hold curated collections, ceramics, minerals, or personal trinkets, adding vertical interest and architectural structure to a flat surface.

Clean the glass panels using a non-ammonia cleaner applied directly to a microfibre cloth to avoid liquid seeping into the wooden frame joints. Nourish the polished timber frame occasionally with a natural beeswax paste, keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
