Country House and Eastern Interiors has dated this Howard Sons Club Armchair to the 1880s.
This is a genuine late 19th century turkish ushak carpet and this particular pattern of design as a carpet costs thousands (5-15k) depending on the size.

Probably never to be repeated or copied by anyone so it is a unique example of it's type if you like this particular style.
It is equally comfortable as it is but there is a feather seat cushion supplied covered in an authentic north west persian kurdish kilim, circa 1920 and a horsehair bolster also supplied, last images which perfectly doubles up as a kind of tea table !

Serial numbers to rear left leg but castors are later non-howard replacements.
It was extremely difficult to upholster being a piled carpet but I think love it or hate it there isn't any denying it's looks and am sure if robert kime was alive god rest his soul he would have approved !
