This is an antique 4 seat drop leaf supper table. An English, Cuban Mahogany extending gate leg serving table, dating to the mid Georgian period, circa 1750.

Exceptional example, with beautiful figuring and colour

Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order

Superior grain interest accentuating the quality Cuban stocks

Presented with appealing, warm caramel hues throughout

Opening from an occasional two seat table to a comfortable four seater

Popularised in the 18th century, a Georgian drop-leaf supper table features hinged sides that raise to create a larger dining surface and drop down to save space when not in use.

These tables were primarily crafted from dense, high-quality timber such as solid mahogany or oak, featuring hand-cut joinery, brass or iron rule hinges, and slender legs.
