Yeats Country Antiques has dated this Edwardian Demilune Hall Table to the Edwardian era.
The well figured, moulded top of demilune form features a line inlaid, crossbanded border and is adorned to the central reserve with an exquisite cornucopia of musical instruments and foliate set within a garland of flowerheads and foliate with tied and scrolling ribbon detail. Raised over simple single drawer frieze with finely cast brass pull and line inlaid panels framing further arrangements of gorgeous marquetry motifs comprising of linen swags, ribbon bows and bellhusks. Supported on elegantly tapering, square leg with decorative flowerhead and bellhusk detail, conjoined with shaped, concave undertier shelf with a fabulous Neoclassical urn to the central reserve.

Edward and Roberts were founded in 1845, and had premises at 21 Wardour Street London. By 1892 they occupied more than a dozen buildings in Wardour Street, where they continued to trade until the end of the century. They became one of the leading London cabinet makers and retailers working in a variety of styles, both modern and revivalist. Edward and Roberts specialized in marquetry, inlay and ormolu.
