Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the early 18th century during the Queen Anne and Georgian eras, a kneehole desk features a flat writing surface with a long top drawer above a central recessed kneehole cupboard, flanked by pedestals of small drawers.

These pieces were typically constructed using solid oak or pine framework veneered with figured or burr walnut. Hardware usually consisted of cast brass drop handles, backplates, and matching keyhole escutcheons.

Authentic period construction features hand-cut dovetail joints on drawer linings, hand-planed back panels, thick timber veneers, and natural wear patterns around keyholes and drawer runners.

A compact kneehole desk functions exceptionally well as an elegant hallway console, bedroom dressing table, or dedicated study area, pairing effortlessly with modern task lighting and contemporary artwork.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the wood moisture. Position the piece away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent veneer cracking or fading.
