By the arab ghani tribe of the khamseh confederation. ,south west persia,

Last quarter 19th century,

Central alternating boteh pattern with birds,animals,tree of life motifs and geometric and zoomorphic motifs at the ends inside the dark blue/black field.notice also the row of headless animals at the very bottom edge inside the field !

All over subtle palette of soft colours.

Hand washed and de-dusted. Side cords rebound and with metal threads. Ends even and secured.restored beautifully.

All over low even pile.

A very nice desirable larger sized khamseh rug.

9 foot 1 inches X 6 foot 6 inches. 278cm X 198cm. At widest points. All woollen construction. Fringes not measured in size.
