Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian corner cabinets were developed during the eighteenth century to utilise room corners efficiently. They typically feature bow-fronted or flat-fronted profiles, solid timber construction such as oak or mahogany, and classical proportions influenced by architectural design.

These pieces were primarily constructed from solid English oak, mahogany, or walnut. Curved bow-front doors were crafted using bent timber frameworks or veneered oak foundations, often secured with hand-forged iron or brass hardware.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, irregular hand-sawn backboards, and natural surface wear consistent with age. Look for original iron H-hinges or butt hinges, brass escutcheons, and signs of hand-planed woodwork inside the cabinet structure.

Position the cabinet in an underutilised dining room or hallway corner to add vertical structure to the space. Contrast the dark oak tone against muted modern paint palettes and use the open top shelving to display ceramics or glassware.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the patina. Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and radiators to prevent shrinking or splitting.
