Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Freestanding corner cupboards gained popularity during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries as practical solutions for utilizing unused room corners. Designed to optimize interior space, these cabinets were traditionally constructed with glazed upper sections for displaying valuable porcelain or glass, and solid lower sections for concealed utility storage.

These cabinets were typically constructed using solid native oak with mortise and tenon joinery. Glazed sections feature hand-fitted glass panes separated by intricate wooden astragal glazing bars, while lower doors frequently showcase raised or fielded wooden panels set on bracket or plinth bases.

Authentic pieces display distinct signs of period craftsmanship, including hand-cut dovetail or mortise joinery, slight irregularities in vintage glass panes, and original brass door hardware. Look for natural oxidation and uneven surface wear consistent with age, particularly along handles and footings.

A standing corner cabinet transforms unused room junctions into focal points. Position the piece in a dining or living space to house contemporary ceramics or glassware behind the glazed doors, balancing dark timber tones with neutral wall colours.

Dust the exterior regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year along the wood grain. Clean glass panes using a mild vinegar solution applied to a cloth rather than sprayed directly onto the frame to prevent moisture damage to the glazing bars.
