A gorgeous antique Regency mahogany chest of drawers featuring a moulded cornice top. The chest has two short drawers above three graduated long drawers, all with cock-beading detail and fitted with brass drop handles. It stands on elegant ogee bracket feet, adding to its timeless appeal and classic design.

CONDITION REPORT:

The chest is in good antique condition overall, with signs of age and use. There is surface wear in various areas, including age-related marks and scratches throughout. The top, sides, and back show some splitting, consistent with its age. There has been a historical repair to one of the drawers, and the front edge of the piece has some fading, all of which are shown in the photos.

Regency chests of drawers, produced roughly between 1810 and 1830, are defined by classical proportions, clean geometric lines, and highly figured timber veneers. They commonly feature two short drawers over three long drawers, bracket or turned feet, and stamped brass backplate handles.
