This is an antique decorative fire back. An English, cast iron relief fireplace reflector, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

Well proportioned and substantial, with fine relief casting

Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order

Heavy cast iron presents a superb relief scene of classical motif

Reassuringly robust with a weight of 42.6kg (93.9 lb)

Striking decoration presents a neo-classical depiction of King Neptune with his trident

Neptune rides forth upon his horse-drawn chariot whilst cherubs play celestial music

Prominent surmount decorated with classical maritime fish masks
