Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Chests of drawers from the Neoclassical and Victorian eras prioritize balanced symmetry, functional proportion, and fine cabinetmaking. They typically feature solid wood construction, flame veneers, cockbeaded drawer edges, and classical brass hardware or turned handles.

English 19th-century chests were predominantly crafted from solid mahogany or oak for structural stability, often finished with flame mahogany veneers. Drawer linings frequently used pine or oak, fitted with pressed or cast brass bail handles.

Authentic 19th-century chests exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints, irregular tool marks on unexposed rear panels, and natural wear around handle mounts and drawer runners. Original keyholes often feature brass escutcheons alongside cast locks.

A Victorian chest serves as a focal piece when placed in a hallway, bedroom, or living area. Anchoring the piece with contemporary ceramics or modern framed artwork creates a balanced contrast between historical timber tones and minimalist modern decor.

Dust regularly using a dry, soft microfibre cloth following the natural grain of the wood. Periodically apply a quality beeswax polish to nourish the timber and maintain the protective finish, avoiding silicone sprays and direct heat sources.
