Description

This absolutely stunning all brass King-sized bed is certainly impressive in its construction and design, lots of lovely aesthetically pleasing features such as the ball joints with attractive rod ends and brass balls making a lovely and unique formation, complimented by nice and sturdy 2” posts, all in all a very handsome choice.

We would recommend this bed be sold with one of our bed bases and we have included this within the cost, this can be deducted if not wishing to use a bed base / have a very deep mattress.

Professionally restored with all joints checked for a solid and secure fit. The siderails have been adapted to be able to take slats or a bed base.

Whole frame has been cleaned, tightened and restored to ensure full working order and sturdiness.

Victorian brass bedsteads became prominent during the mid-to-late 19th century as manufacturing techniques improved. Characterised by hollow brass tubing over iron cores, turned decorative collars, and vertical spindles, these frames provided a hygienic and durable alternative to heavy wooden bedsteads.

Traditional brass beds were constructed using seamless brass tubing wrapped over sturdy iron internal rods, held together by cast iron dovetail joint fittings. Decorative elements, such as corner finials, turned knobs, and lower mounts, were typically cast or spun in solid brass.
