An incredibly attractive all brass super-King-sized bed by Maple & Co. of London.
This concentric circle design is caried through the rest of the bed and can be seen on the cross-section joints. Similar brass furrowed detailing can be found in the middle of the uprights and the posts. Lovely Brass finials, all secure and in good condition.
The bed has a gorgeous patina which we have cleaned and highlighted. It catches the light beautifully whilst still respects the age of this stunning bed.
Professionally restored with all joints checked for a solid and secure fit. The side rails have been adapted to be able to take slats or a bed base. Whole frame has been cleaned, tightened and restored to ensure full working order and sturdiness.
Maple & Co. of Tottenham Court Road, London, was a British furniture and upholstery manufacturer established in 1841 which became one of the most fashionable brands in Victorian and Edwardian Britain. The company became one of the prime makers and suppliers of furniture to the aristocracy and royalty in both the United Kingdom and around the world.
