Lid and drawer close perfectly square. Hinges and both locks in excellent condition with a working key supplied. The interior has been refurbished to a high standard. Lightly padded panel to the lid interior. The tray features side metal handles and 10 storage sections 4 of which have lids with ornate gilt ring pulls. Storage section beneath the tray with lightly padded base. The front drawer is of solid wood construction with hand cut dovetail joints for strength and durability. Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the Georgian and Regency eras, mahogany jewellery boxes were crafted as secure, portable containers for personal valuables and dressing table items, featuring fitted compartments and brass lock mechanisms.

These boxes were typically constructed from solid or veneered mahogany, fitted with brass escutcheons and handles, and lined inside with silk, velvet, paper, or leather.

Authentic pieces from around 1830 often feature hand-cut dovetail joints, original brass lock plates, natural grain variation, and era-appropriate fitted lift-out trays.

Place the box on a dressing table, sideboard, or desk top to add historical depth and functional storage to a contemporary room layout.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth, apply natural beeswax sparingly along the wood grain, and keep the item away from direct sunlight or damp environments.
