Large Georgian One Gallon Blue & White Pottery Jug C1830

Description

This ENGLISH GEORGIAN BLUE AND WHITE TRANSFER PRINTED POTTERY JUG holds ONE GALLON of liquid. It dates from circa 1830.

The pattern is untitled but, interestingly, shows a young lady riding a cow.

For a piece of pottery nearly 200 years old it is in jolly good condition. There are some nibbles to the lip edge and an old star crack near the base (shown in photographs). There is no restoration.

Height: 9 inches (22.5 cm)
